Son of David James McKitterick and Cora Mathilda McKitterick of Tilbury, ON.; husband of Gertrude Eileen McKitterick, of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Donald was reported at No.4 Bombing & Gunnery School at Fingal, ON. in September of 1942. TT1/10/42.  The CDN 17/08/44 reported that Flt. Sgt. McKitterick who was reported MIA 3 October, 1943 has been presumed dead for official purposes, this sobering information was received by his wife then living at 960 Greenwood, Toronto. He had been reported missing after a raid on Kassel, Germany.  

Age: 25, KIA – Date of Death: 03/10/1943. Flying in Stirling bomber # BK 723, which was ditched in the North Sea during and operation against Kassel, Germany. Six other members of the crew, not Canadians reported MIA and presumed killed.
