The son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward McKay of Dresden. John left for Galt to begin his training in the air force. CDN 11/09/42 

John was reported home on leave from RCAF-St. Thomas on a weekend leave to see his parents. TD 14/04/43 The DT 29/04/43 reported that AC2 McKay, of the RCAF was on a weekend leave with his parents for Easter. In August 1943 John was on a two week furlough at his parent’s home, from RCAF-Lethbridge. DT 12/08/43

The DT 9/03/44 reported that John’s parents received word that he had arrived in the Emgland.

John was reported aboard the Ile de France returning RCAF personnel to Canada, expected to arrive in Halifax 25/01/46. 

Discharged February 1946.

John passed away 2 October, 1996.
