The only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. W. McIntyre of King St. West, Chatham, ON. Jean was on a weekend leave to visit her parents. CDN 7/09/42. Jean was granted a 48 hour leave along with AW2 Peggy Bruce to visit Jean’s family in Chatham. CDN 21/08/42. Jean was reported home from RCAF-Toronto on a weekend leave. CDN 26/10/42
The CDN 9/03/43 reported LAW McIntyre was expected home from Toronto to spend a four day furlough with her parents.
The CDN 10/05/43 reported Jean was home from Toronto on a weekend leave. Jean was home again from Toronto spending a week-end leave with her parents. CDN 17/06/43. LAW McIntyre spent her last evening while on furlough before returning to RCAF-Toronto. CDN 20/09/43.
In January of 1944 Jean was stationed at RCAF Centralia when she was granted leave to spend a weekend at her home on King St., West, Chatham. CDN 29/01/44 Still stationed at Centralia Jean was home on a week-end leave. CDN 13/03/44
Received Basic Training at Toronto W. D. Training School, as Clerk Stenographer (Medical). Posted to #11 Recruiting Centre in Toronto and served a year. Jean was reported home from Toronto on a weekend leave. CDN 26/10/42. Posted to Centralia #9 Service Flying and Training School October 1943. Posted to #7 Convalescent Hospital R.C.A.F. Niagara Falls October 1944. Promoted to the rank of L.A.W.
LAW McIntyre was reported CDN 30/05/44 was on a 48 hour leave with her parents. There were many things to do before her marriage to LAC Donald Harlow in “the near future”.
AW2 McIntyre and Lac Milton Donald Harlow of Kitchener were the first RCAF to be married in the new chapel at Centralia (No.9 S.F.T.S. A reception was held in the YMCA Hostess House on the station. They honeymooned in Toronto.
