Private McIntyre left for overseas three weeks after enlistment training with the 8th Reserve Battalion in England.
He proceeded to France May 11, 1918, drafted to the 54th Canadians.
Soon after his arrival in France he contracted trench fever and was confined to hospital for six weeks.
He rejoined his unit and during an attack in the Somme district, Aug. 20, 1918, he was killed in action.
