The son of Wesley and Margaret  McIntyre of Chatham, ON. Wesley had served in the Great War and was serving in the Provost Corp. He had returned after three years service in June of 1944.

The brother of four sisters Mrs. Robert Bridges, Mrs. George Fiveash, both woman’s husband had been killed in action, Jean and Laura and brothers Kenneth and John at home. Prior to his enlistment he was at the sugar refinery in Chatham.

Trained three years with the Kent Regiment.

 

Frederick enlisted in 1943 with the Essex Scottish and had been overseas since Christmas 1944. The last his parents had heard from him he was in Belgium. The CDN 2/03/45 reported that Pte. McIntyre was reported as missing in action and he would later be designated as a POW.
