Private McDougall left for overseas with the 229th battalion Apr. 8, 1917, proceeding to France Sept. 9, transferring to the 46th Canadian Battalion.
He went over the top first Oct. 22, 1917, serving continuously until about Sept. 7, 1918, when he entered training school for Machine Gun duty.
He rejoined his unit Sept. 21, 1918 and was killed in action Sept. 27.
