Born in 1909 in Brampton, ON. The son of Benjamin McClure of 119 ½ King St., West, Chatham, ON. Prior to his enlistment he was employed at the International Harvester Company in Chatham.

Enlisted with the 2nd Batt. Kent Regiment then transferred to the RCAMC in August, 1942. He went overseas in December of 1942, serving in England, France, Belgium and Holland. It was in Holland that he suffered a torn retina of the right eye.

Rubert was hospitalized in England, medical evacuation to hospital in London ON. and finally sent to Westminister, BC. He was discharged from the Army in May, 1946.

Rubert passed away 21 March, 1996.
