MCCARTNEY, ROBERT HENRY. Rank: Sergeant; Regimental No. 11416. Date of Birth: 15-04-1895 at Tilbury, Ontario. Son of Mrs. Robert McCartney of 18 Mount Pleasant St., Brantford, Ontario. Robert was a single candy maker living at his mother's home. Served 1-1/2 years with the Dufferin Rifles of Canada (DRC) in Brantford. Attestation: 23-09-1914 at Valcartier, PQ. To 4th Battalion Canadian Expeditionary Force. (Found on photograph of the DRC "Sergeant's Mess" - 1925, LAC)
