The son of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Maynard of Wilson Ave., Chatham, ON. Married Margaret Jean (nee Smithson), daughter of Mrs. E. Smithson of 22 Jeffery St., Chatham in the first double ring ceremony in Chatham during WWII.

Served six years in the Army, five of which were spent overseas.  Was a dispatch rider of the 1st. Division of R.C.A.S.C Received the 1939 to 1945 Star the Defence of England, the Italian Campaign, and the France and Germany Star.

Discharged August 1st, 1943.

The CDN 29/06/45 reported that he and eleven other men would be returning to Canada aboard Vessel 889 and there after would arrive in London, ON. Next of Kin: Mrs. E. Maynard (mother) 67 Bedford Street, Chatham, ON.

Donald was reported returning from overseas KCFA 5/07/45. They would have a daughter 28/09/1946.

Donald passed away 20 June, 1966.
