Archie was born on 12/03/1915 in MacGregor, Manitoba; son of John Slater Matier and of Janet Matier (nee McLarty), of Steveston, British Columbia, Canada. He was living at R. R. # 1 Wheatley, Romney Twsp., Kent Co. ON when he enlisted 22/10/42 in Windsor, ON. The husband of Helen who served in the Navy.
