The Son of Mr. T. J. Martin ( a veteran of the Great War) and Mrs Martin of 935 Forham St., Wallaceburg. Born in Toronto but attended Central School in Wallaceburg and later worked at Wallaceburg Brass Ltd. and Dominion Glass Co. He was prominent in Scouting, was a Cubmaster at No. 3 at Trinity U.C. He had the honour of being the first King’s Scout in Wallaceburg.

Thomas enlisted in May of 1943, started his training at Saskatoon. He returned 19 in September 1943. WN 23/03/44, 16/03/44. The WN 23/03/44 reported that LAC Martin was serving on ‘active’ duty.
