Driver Chauncey M. Martin left St. John for overseas January 1st, 1916, with the Mechanical Transports, training at Witley Camp until March 15th, when he proceeded to France attached to the 132nd Heavy Battery, R.G.A., hauling ammunition for eight months, when he was transferred to the 142nd Heavy Battery. November 29th, 1917, he crossed to England for his first two weeks’ leave, returning to the same Battery.
