Embarked Halifax aboard the S.S. Olympic for England. Disembarked at Liverpool, England 5/07/16. TOS 21/07/16 to the PPCLI. 22/12/16. 22/07/16 to 13th CMR. To PPCLI – Shorncliffe. Landed in France 23/12/16. 5/03/17 left for unit in the FIELD to 10/03/17.   

Pte Martin came to meet VDG 22/08/16 went to Shorncliffe for the cure. 27/08/16 he was admitted to 26 Bramwell, Military – Cambridge 27/08/16 again for VDG. He was discharged 23/11/16. He would be involved in the Gonorrhoea Case Sheet date of infection as part of his being admitted to hospital (two pages).    

WIA – GSW in back. 7/11/17 taken from the field by Home Counties Field Ambulance. 18/11/17 Dangerisly ill, Middlesex Hospital – Clacton. 20/11/17 died – GSW and Spinal Meningites. Transferred to England. 12/11/17 arrived at St. Denis – Invalided. DOW 18/11/17 at 7:15 A.M.

Mr. G. A. Martin received the Memorial Plaque 6/04/22 and The Memorial Scroll 7/06/21 and Memorial Plaque 6/04/22. Mrs. Mary Martin received the Memorial Cross.

In his “WILL” he expected the following: “ I leave all my belongings which are the south west and north west quarter of Sec. 7.t.p. 33 range 8 west of the 4th mer. The south west ¼ to my mother which is my homestead and the northwest ¼ to my Brother, Thomas Martin. “ J.A. Martin 14/12/16.
