Gunner Mars arrived in England Mar. 14, 1916, and was promoted to Bombadier July 1, 1916, when he crossed to France transferring to the 36th Battery, CFA.
He received promotion to Corporal in Sept. 1917 and to Sergeant in Sept. 1918.
During the final assault on Cambrai Oct. 7, 1918, he was killed in action.
