Resident Tilbury

The son of Mrs. Joseph Marchand of South St., Tilbury, ON.  Married Beatrice, and had a daughter who was three in 1946 the family was living in Tilbury, ON. In March of 1943 he was Gunner Marchand home on leave from Barriefield for a weekend visit with his wife. TT18/03/43. Andy also trained at Camp Borden, ON. He was reported serving overseas TT 15/04/43.

Andrew went overseas with the RCOC in March of 1943. While at Camp Borden near Aldershot in England he was with the RCEME. One of his memorable leaves was a 10 day pass to Paris.

In March of 1943 he was Gunner Marchand home on leave from Barriefield for a weekend visit with his wife. TT18/03/43. Andy also trained at Camp Borden, ON. He was reported serving overseas TT 15/04/43.

Andrew went overseas with the RCOC in March of 1943. While are Camp Bordon near Aldershot in England he was with the RCEME. One of his memorable leave was a 10 day pass to Paris.  The CDN 31/12/45 reported that he returned to Canada aboard the S. S. Mauretania arriving 1/01/46 at Halifax, NS. His next of Kin was listed as Mrs. B. (Beatrice) Marchand, Canal St., Tilbury, ON. Perhaps the ship made a ‘fast passage’ 

He was reported reported returning to Canada on the S.S. Mauretania with a reunion with his wife and almost three year old daughter in Windsor. CDN 4/01/46.

Arrived aboard the S.S. Mauritania from overseas docked at Halifax NS. 1 January, 1946.
