Son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Lundy of King St. West, Chatham, ON. He attended Queen Mary Public School and Chatham Vocational School, where he studied electrical work. A member of Park Street United Church where he was a “loyal” worker in the Sunday School.
Donald enlisted at nineteen at London, ON. in November 1943 with the Royal Canadian Engineers. He trained at Petawawa. In January of 1944 he was home on leave from Petawawa to continue his training. In August 1944 he was posted overseas and was serving as a craftsman in the Canadian Base workshop of the R.C.M.E.
Donald was the husband of Shirley Ruby (nee Collins) and the father of Paul and Donna (Davis).
