Private Lucas enlisted at Dresden Oct. 8, 1916 and trained with his unit at Windsor for about seven months before being sent to Truro and Halifax thence to England and after a short training there he stayed for about a year when he exchanged for 37th Coy CFC as an electrician. While serving in his capacity he was taken sick to hospital in France and from there to England to Bradford Yorkshire where he died from bronchitis contracted in the front lines of France.
