Married to Mary Elizabeth, (wife), they were living at 208 Inshes Ave., Chatham, ON, where he was a police officer. Vaccinated – Yes. No previous Military training. Attestation  17/01/1916 at Guelph, ON to 18th Batt., CFA.

Apparent Age: 30 yrs., Height: 6’ ½” , Girth: 45”, Weight: 220#,  Complexion: Fair, Eyes: Blue, Hair: Light Brown. “Small scar on his chin and one on left eyebrow.” Medical: “Fit” 3/01/16 at Chatham, ON. – 18/01/16. MEDICALLY UNFIT  

Private. F.W. Lucas went overseas in April 1916, with the 70th Battalion, transferred to the Heavy Artillery, and was attached to the 1st Canadian Heavy Battery, France. He went through all engagements in his sector until the Lens show, when he returned to Canada on ten weeks furlough, proceeding to England again October 31st, 1917.
