Born 13/02/1918 at Detroit, Michigan. Next of Kin, Phyllis Loyer of 145 ½ Richmond St., Chatham, ON.

Trained at #12 B.T.C. for one month.

Wilfred enlisted in Chatham, ON. 23/12/1943.

Wilfred enlisted in the RCAF at No.9 Recruiting Centre at London, ON.  CDN15/07/42. He trained at Malton, ON. and gained his Navigator wing. He was overseas at Millom, Cumberland, England 16/05/44, Kinloss 3/07/44, and Marston Moor serving as ‘Air Navigator’, primarily in Halifax bombers flying with RAF Groups 78 Sqd. and Sqd.1713. He arrived in Chatham and was discharged in August 1945. CDN 9/08/45

Discharged September 19th, 1945.

After the war Wilfred was married twice and had four children.  His second wife, Trudy (nee Smyth).

He passed away in July 2007.
