Resident Wheatley

Service no. 34900. The son of Dr. H. A. Lounsbury of Wheatley, ON. Earl had enlisted in the British forces 1 January, 1915, serving in the Motor Transport Corps in May of 1917. After arriving in England he was detailed for service in the Imperial Forces at Salonica and in Mesopotamia and at Corfu with the Serbian army. He was serving in Serbia when he was wounded 27 June, 1917 at Monfstir by shrapnel, wounded in the stomach and hip and was invalided to England.

He spent time in the Liverpool Infirmary and Guy’s hospital in London, England. He was then invalided back to Canada arriving 8/03/18. 

The Leamington Post reported that he had lost a silver war medal, engraved with his service number and was anxious to have it returned.
