William London is in the IODE Books of Remembrance at the C0-K Museum in Chatham, ON.
Private William London went overseas with the 70th Battalion in April 1916, proceeding to France in August 1916 with a draft for the 18th Battalion. While going back to rest billets he received wounds in the left arm and right leg and after hospital treatment was invalided to Canada February 2nd, 1917.
It was reported that William arrived at the home of his family in Dresden after having been invalided from England. “He served some months at the front and received shrapnel wounds in his legs and arms.” He had been recuperating in hospital in England and will now “take electric treatment at Chatham for the injury to his arm.” A reception was held for Pte. London upon his return. BT1/03/17
