The son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Ashton Lillie of Wallaceburg, ON.

John was reported stationed at RCAF-Dunnville was at his parents on a week-end leave. WN 15/05/41 and 17/07/41.  

The Wallaceburg News 21/08/41(P) reported that Sgt.Pilot John M. Lillie married Mary Ellen Gilpin of Dunnville, ON. The couple was married at the brides home, John’s brother Alan served as Best man. The couple took a short trip on the groom’s week leave. 

Sgt. Lillie and his wife were guests at his families home in April of 1942 while he was stationed at Dunnville for training. CDN 17/04/42

WO. John and his wife were guests at his parents home in Wallaceburg and his sister Barbara accompanied them back to Dunnville, ON. (S.F.T.S. No.6) were John was stationed. CDN 28/07/42.

John was reported visiting his parents Councillor J. A. and Mrs. Lillie. WN 9/08/42 The WN 24/12/42 reported that John was stationed at RCAF-Dunnville, he and his wife were home for Christmas.

The WN 23/03/44 reoported that Sgt./Pilot Lillie was on ‘active duty’.

After two years of serving in England F/O Lillie as a flying instructor was reported to be on his way home. WN 15/03/45
