He would transfer from the 2nd Kents to the RCAF. WO2 R201495, RCAF. Born 1915 at Port Arthur, ON. Married to Thelma Marie (nee Hicks) they were living at 41 Joseph St., Chatham, ON. when “Moe” enlisted with the 2nd Kent’s in February, 1943. Prior to his enlistment in the RCAF WO2 L’Heureux was a member of the staff of the Union Gas Co., in Chatham.
Appears on the “Muster Roll” of the 2nd Bn., Kent Regiment (MG), N.P.A.N. (date unknown). He would transfer from the 2nd Kents to the RCAF.
AC L’Heureux of Brandon MB. with his wife and sons Michael and Robert of Sarnia were visiting Mr. and Mrs, W.J. Hicks of Adelade St., North, Chatham In March of 1944 Morris was stationed at Fingal when he was granted leave to see his wife and children living on Joseph St., Chatham. CDN 22/03/44
He transferred to the RCAF training at Brandon, MN. Defoe and Calgary, AB before getting his wings and graduated at Fingal, ON. as a WAG. He was stationed at Crumlin before being posted overseas stationed in the South of England as a wireless operator with the rank of Warrant Officer Second Class. .
He was discharged from the RCAF in February, 1946.
Returning to Chatham where he and Thelma raised their family of boys, Michael, Robert, John and Maurice.
Trained with the 2nd Kent Regiment.
Maurice/Morris passed away in 2005.
