Private Lewis enlist in WOR Jan. 3, 1918 and proceeded overseas Jan. 31, 1918, crossed to France Mar. 10 and joined 31st Alberta Infantry at Amiens.
He was seriously wounded Aug. 9 and was sent to hospital in England where he remained 4 months and then convalesced at Epsom, thence to Bramshott where he remain until he left for Canada Jan 11, 1919.
