Born in Wallaceburg, the son of Mrs. George Lewis, he had passed away. He had attended town schools and was employed at the Dominion Glass Co for 14 years as a Machine operator by trade. He had tree brothers Lyle, Harold and Charles, and two sisters Mrs. Ed McDougall and Mrs. Vera Ewing of Sombra. Husband of  Mrs. J. Lewis of 1025 Elizabeth St., also 77 James St., Wallaceburg, ON. She was employed at the Schultz Die-Casting Co.

Archie enlisted with the Essex Scottish in August 1943and went overseas in February of 1944.

The WN 3/08/44 reported that his wife received information that her husband was MIA as a result of “operations against the enemy in France”, he had been missing since 21 July,1944.

 Reported returning from overseas duty aboard the vessel Queen Mary docking at New York City. CDN 11/07/45.
