The eldest of Mr. and Mrs.Thad Lenover, of Harwich Twsp.  Brother of Sgt. William Beverly (KIA).   Prior to his enlistment he was a member of the office staff of the Union Gas Company.

Robert enlisted with the RCAF in April, 1941 as a navigator. He trained in St. Johns, Quebec City, Penfield Ridge, NB and graduated from Jarvis, ON. in January 1942 when he received his commission. CDN 8/08/45 Robert was reported to be home on a two week leave after completing his course as an Observer at the Pennfield Ridge, NB. RCAF training station. It was at Pennfield ridge that he received his commission. CDN 16/02/42.

Robert went overseas in 1942 serving with the RAF in their Coastal Command service. Serving in different areas in the British Isles he also served out of Gibraltar.  The CDN 2/05/44 reported that his parents had received word that their son had been promoted to the rank of Flt. Lieut.  Prior to returning to Wallaceburg the Flt. Lieut. Had been serving with RAF Transport Command to India.

 Robert was reported to be home on a two week leave after completing his course as an Observer at the Pennfield Ridge, NB. RCAF training station. It was at Pennfield ridge that he received his commission. CDN 16/02/42.

Prior to returning to Wallaceburg the Flt. Lieut. Had been serving with RAF for the past three and a half years with Transport Command to different parts of the UK, Gibralter and recently to India. CDN 22/08/45(P).
