The son of Mr. and Mrs Charles Lemieux of Tilbury.  

It was reported that Tommy enlisted in the Army in October of 1941. TT31/10/41. By December of 1942 Pte. Lemieux was with the RCOC stationed at St. John’s, Nfld. when he was granted a 14 day furlough to visit his parents. CDN 2/12/42

In February of 1943 he was serving as a Staff Sergeant in Newfoundland with the RCOC being promoted in February of 1943 to this rank. TT 18/02/43.  In January of 1943 Tom was serving with the Royal Canadian Ordinance Corps in Newfoundland, underwent an appendix operation at St. John’s Hospital and was making a good recovery. TT 28/01/43.

 In September of 1943 Tom was on furlough from St. John’s Nfld. While visiting his parents in Tilbury. TT16/09/43 also reported in the CDN 10/09/43.
