Born near Florence, the son of William N. Leeson of R. R. #3 Florence, ON. Enlisted in March 1916 at Thamesville, ON. a single farmer age 24 years. It was reported in the Bothwell Times that Frank was visiting friends in the area prior to going overseas Frank went overseas. BT 22/03/17.
Pte. Frank W. Leeson went overseas with the 186th Battalion in March, 1917, and while drilling in England had his arm injured and was transferred to the Canadian Forestry Corps. He was later given instruction in Motor Transport driving, at the Lacre Motor Truck factory, being stationed at Sluie Camp, Scotland, as truck driver. He was then transferred to C.A.S.C.M.T. and served with that unit until he returned to Canada in Aug 1919.
Frank was discharged due to demobization 15 August, 1919. IODE(P) BT 22/03/17.
