Believed to be from Chatham, ON. He was married and his wife was living in Detroit, Michigan. The brother of Pte. Frank LaRue (RCAMC – Camp Borden) and a sister Pte. M. Edwards of No.12 BTC.
The CDN 22/01/45 reported that Charles had returned from the South Pacific after being two years away. He was on a thirty-eight day leave and took a few days to visit with his mother and his siblings in Chatham. He had arrived in Chicago where he was met by his wife and together came to Chatham.
He was stationed in Rhode Island, USA. CDN 19/02/45.
