Served with the Kent Regiment from 1930 to 1940.

Trained at Chatham and Camp Borden. Went overseas with the rank of Corporal and later promoted to Corporal. Served in France where he was wounded at Caen.

CEM.  James was reported a casualty an eye injury,  while serving in the Kent Regt. when stationed in Vancouver, BC. in November of 1944 Cpl. Lamarsh was posted to St. Luke’s Barrack of Windsor, ON. with the Military Police. He had been serving for two years.

James was awarded the Canadian Efficiency Medal in January of 1944. It was reported that James was married and his wife was living at 6 Linden St., Chatham. CDN 8/11/44(P)

Discharged June 2nd 1945.
