Stoker Joseph Lake was made a member of the crew of the Niobe October 2nd, 1917, on which he served until December 6th, 1917, when during the Halifax disaster, he suffered internal injuries and also had his hand poisoned from burns, He was admitted to Hospital in Halifax, and later in Montreal, being discharged from Hospital March 18th, 1918.
