Regimental number: 3136657 Reference: RG 150, Accession 1992-93/166, Box 5316 – 10,  Item: 506412, PDF: B5316 – S010. Date of Birth 11/04/1895 at Harwich Twsp. Kent Co., ON. The youngest son of James Kerr and Louisa (nee Carnes Patterson) Laird of R. R. #6 Blenheim, ON. A single farmer living at home. MSA 704522 AC. Attestation: 23/05/1918 at London, ON to 1st WOR.

L/Cpl. Laird of the WOR was admitted to the London Military Hospital-Woseley Barracks 16/08/18 for treatment for “Otitis media” ( an inflamatory disease of the middle ear). According to his military file James was discharged from the Army 16/10/18 for medical reasons.

In 1920 he married Isabelle ‘Bella’ (nee Jones). They moved to Windsor.  In 1923 they moved across the river to Michigan where they resided until 1964 when James passed away, Bella died in 1968. Their only child Helen married Ian A. Weatherwax. 

Both James and Bella are buried at Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim, ON., Plot #1193
