The son of Mr. and Mrs. George Laidlaw of McNaughton Ave., Chatham. He enlisted with the Scots Fusiliers. 

He used his furlough again, according to the CDN 17/05/42.   L/Cpl was reported on leave from his duties at Niagara-on-the-lake for a week-end leave to see his parents. CDN 7/07/42.  

Wes was stationed on the Headquarters Staff, Scots Fusiliers at Allenburg Barracks, Niagara-on- the-Lake, ON. CDN 16/09/42 and again in October. CDN 19/10/42.

The CDN 6/04/43 reported on the Headquarters Staff of the Scot Fusiliers stationed at Niagara-on-the Lake. He spent a week-end with his parents.  He used his furlough again, according to the CDN 17/05/42.

The CDN 28/06/43 reported that Cp. Laidlaw on the headquarters staff of the Scots Fusiliers spent a leave with his parents.

The CDN 28/04/44 reported that Corp. Laidlaw, of the HQ. staff at No.1 BTC, Chatham who had been at Debert, Nova Scotia.
