John enlisted 6/07/1943 at HMCS Hunter, Windsor, ON. Transferring from Windsor to HMCS Cornwallis on 6/09/1943. Did his radar training at Picton and on completion of that training joined the crew of the corvette HMCS Dauphin on 31/05/1945 and on 9/06/1945 HMCS St. Hyacinth. He was discharged at HMCS Hunter 17/09/1945.
