Resident Tilbury

Son of Mr. and Mrs. Medora King, of Tilbury, Ontario. Gnr. King was reported as MIA on 10/08/1944 and reported as KIA some days later. Born in Tilbury he attended St. Francis Separate School and was working at the Duchene Seed Store prior to enlisting. Besides his parents he was survived by four brothers and three sisters.

Pte. King was reported home on leave from Camp Petawawa, ON. for the weekend. He had successfully completed a test for entrance into a “trades school”. TT 24/09/42.

Gnr. King had been overseas since 1942. Besides his parents he was survived by his brothers Arthur of Amherstburg, Leo and Donald of Tilbury and Pte. Charles King serving with the Home Defence Force in BC.; he had three sisters Mrs. Emile Duchene, Tilbury East, Mrs. Ben Tremblay and Miss Eva King of Tilbury.

Date of Death: 10/08/1944, in France.
