Walter was reported to have returned from overseas duty 26 Sept. 1946 after four years with the R.C.A.S.C. While overseas he served in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. Walter crossed from Britian to France shortly after D-Day. While on the continent he suffered an injury in a motorcycle accident that sent him to hospital. He was married and had a daughter Sandra age four who he had not seen before returning to Tilbury. After a brief stay in Tilbury Walter and his family had to return to Ottawa until his discharge is finalized.
