Born in Chatham in 1927.   Son of Mr. and Mrs. Abner King of 122 Inshes Ave., Chatham, ON.  The CDN 30/ 11/43 reported that Robert John, then living at 122 Inshes Ave., Chatham, had enlisted in the RCAF.

Robert enlisted in the RCAF and trained at Toronto for three months before being discharged, reason unknown.

Robert enlisted first in the Army as a Pte. A51106 in the Kent Regt., for service in Canada only.

Air Force training for three months at Toronto. He was discharged then called into the Army. Extension was reported to have safely arrived overseas with the RCAF. CDN 6/04/44.

Bob would marry Thelma Joyce (nee Comfort) and they had two children, Dianne and David.

Very involved in St. James Presbyterian Church as Choir Master and organist. They worked together for Diamond Hall Ltd. for the late Stanley G. Thompson then co-owned Diamond Hall Music Centre.

Robert passed away in 2012. Interment at Christ Church Memorial Gardens.
