Attestation: 15/04/1918 at Windsor, ON. to CE. At the enlistment Blanche, was living at 165 Pier St. Ocean Park, California, USA.

Previously he had offered his services in H.M. Forces at Flint, Michigan and was rejected due to weak eyes. His Attestation: 15/04/18 at Windsor, ON. – though his vision was no better JRH.  

His height 5’ 9 ½ “, Girth: 34” Complexion: Fair, Eyes: Blue, Hair: Brown. Medical at Windsor, ON. 15/04/1918. Hearing Normal, Vision R. 20/250 L. 20/200, Weight: 131#.    

Arrived in England 15/07/18 crossing aboard the S.S. Valaoia, SOS to Canada. 22/02/19. Returned to Canada aboard the S.S. Cassandra. Embarked 22/02/19. Disembarked in March 1919   His Discharge Certificate 27/03/19 at London, ON.

John had come down with Influenza in France and had a good recovery thus his delay to return to Canada.
