Born 3/03/1922 the son of Sarah Bernice (Turner) and Homer William Kelley; brother of Ivan Homer (A49932), Nelly Elvira (Lee) and Theodore W. George’s wife was residing with Mrs. Kelly at her home on Delaware, Avenue, Chatham.

George enlisted in August 1942, trained at Windsor and BTC No.12 – Chatham, Pettawa, Montreal and Debert, Nova Scotia. Served overseas in the European Theatre with the Royal Canadian Engineers.

Went overseas and served in England, Italy, France, Belgium, and Holland. Served in action as wireless operator.  George enlisted in August 1942, trained at Windsor and BTC No.12 – Chatham and Petawawa, ON.  The CDN 28/10/43 reported that Spr. Kelley was returning to Camp Petawawa after a leave with his wife at their home on Delaware Ave., Chatham.  He took a course at Montreal, PQ. to join the RCE. His wife received word that George was safely overseas.  CDN 9/03/44.

He served overseas in the European Theatre with the Royal Canadian Engineers.

Discharged February 26th, 1946.

He passed away 30 Dec., 2001. Information from Barbara Watson.
