It was reported that Pte. Jones was training in Listowel when he was granted leave in November of 1942. BT 5/11/42. Clarence was reported home in Zone Twsp., on leave from Camp Ipperwash where he was training.

From Bothwell. The KCFA 19/07/45 reported he was aboard the hospital ship “El Nil” expected to dock at Halifax July 1945, he was a stretcher case.

He returned to Canada on the El Nil in July 1945. He was seriously injured in Holland on May 2, 1945. He was sent to Westminster Hospital in London following his return from Europe. A report and picture appeared in the Windsor Star on July 23, 1945 (submitted by Nancy Jones Reay, daughter.)
