Had been an officer in the Kent Regiment previous to mobilization.
When the First Kents were mobilized he immediately became adjutant of that unit and continued in that capacity until August 24th, 1943 when he proceeded overseas on an Instructional tour. Remaining in England was given an important position with the Civil Administration of the affairs in re-occupied countries in Europe. Later he was given an appointment with S.H.A.E.F., with headquarters in Versailles, France. Later was appointed to the Canadian War Crimes Investigation Unit of C.M.H.Q. with headquarters in London. Was mentioned in Despatches and won the Canadian Efficiency Decoration, also was awarded the 1939 to 1945 Star, France and Germany Star, Defence of Britain Medal and the C.V.S.M. with Clasp. Promoted to the rank of Major. In 1947 awarded the Croix de Guerre by the French Government.
Discharged February 23rd, 1946.
