The son of W. E. Johnston of London, ON. Next of kin reported as Mrs. A. Johnston of 100 Delaware, Chatham, ON., his wife.    Served with the 2nd Kent Regiment.

Appears on the “Muster Roll” of the 2nd Bn., Kent Regiment (MG), N.P.A.N. (date unknown).

Ronald had enlisted with the RCASC in January of 1941 and had gone overseas in November of that year. He later transferred to the Winnipeg grenadiers while in Britain.

The CDN 21/03/45 reported that his wife had received a letter saying that her husband had recently arrived in Italy “as a reinforcement”.

Reported returning to Canada from overseas duty aboard the troopship “Pasteur” expect to dock at Quebec City on the 22nd of September 1945. CDN 20/09/45. Reported returned from overseas duty CDN 23/09/45.
