Captain O.V. Jewitt served as Lieutenant and was later promoted to Captain, with the 24th Kent Regiment, in all two and a half years.
Captain O. V. Jewitt was promoted to Major with the 33rd Battalion, in April,1915, and left Halifax for overseas March 17th, 1916. In England he transferred to the 1st Canadian Infantry Battalion, as Captain, proceeding to France July 1st, 1916. He was promoted to Major August 11th, 1916, commanding a company through the Ypres Salient, Somme and Vimy Ridge until April, 1917.
Major O.V. Jewitt received his honorable discharge in May, 1917.
