Lieutenant Wilfred J.P. Jenner began training with the Royal Air Force September 3rd, 1917, leaving for England December 22nd, 1917, having won his commission as Second Lieutenant in the three months training. He began training at Shawbury, England, January 30th, 1918, receiving his graduation certificate February 26th, and continuing training in England and Scotland. He proceeded to France April 2nd, 1918, attached to the Royal Naval Air Force, No. 204 Squadron, flying a “Sopwith Scout”. He received his First Lieutenancy May 1st, 1918.
