Kent Regt., C.I.C. Born in Chatham. The son of Mr. and Mrs. William Jeffery, 129 Park Ave., West, Chatham, ON. Earl attended St. Joseph RC school and CCI and CVS William married while he was in New Westminster with the Kent’s, she was was residing there. Prior to his enlistment he was employed by the Imperial Optical Co.

Earl enlisted with the First Kents 4 Aug.1940 His wife resided in New Westminster, BC. The CDN 8/09/44(P) reported Pte. Jeffery was serving overseas. Pte Jeffery was posted overseas in July 1944. He remained in England for a month when he was transferred to the fighting front in France.  

A.M.C. Signallers 1928 Special Grade-2 years.

Served in Canada with the Kents for four years. Transferred to the Royal Regiment of Canada and went overseas July 27th, 1944. Served in England, France, and Belgium. Was wounded in thigh and hospitalized in England. Promoted to Lance Corporal.

His wife was notified that Earl had been wounded 10/10/44 serving with the Royal Regt, of Canada, in Action in France. No other information was included at that time.

The CDN 10/12/45 reported that he returned to Canada aboard the S. S. Mauretania. Next of Kin: Mrs. W. Jeffery, 129 Park Avenue West, Chatham, ON. 

Arrived aboard the S.S. Mauritania from overseas docked at Halifax NS. 1 January, 1946.
