Resident Blenheim

Rank: Lieut. RAMC. The son of the Rev. W. H. Jamieson. Born in Port Hope, ON., 18/08/1883. He grew up in the Blenheim and Ridgetown area. He attended the University of Western Ontario 1904-06, studied medicine at the University of Toronto 1906 – 1908 where he graduated. He worked in New York for a time before moving to Grimsby to open a practice. He married Janet E. who was born in Grimsby, she would later move to Prescott, ON.

In October 1917 Lieut. Jamieson was appointed to the RAMC (Imp.) and after a short period of training in England. From there he was assigned to the middle-east, he reached Alexandria in December of 1917. From there he was sent immediately to Palestine attached to the 2/5th London Field Ambulance. After six weeks at their base in Jerusalem he was sent forward to the advance dressing station 

Some time later he was the Medical Officer to the 302nd Artillery Brigade. He servied in the capture of Jericho, and the raids on Es Sault. When he returned to Alexandria on sick leave, he was accidentally drowned while bathing.

He was buried at Alexandria (Hadra) Memorial Cemetery. DOD 27/06/18, AI., age 34 years.
