The son of Mr. and Mrs George Jacobs of 24 Emma St., Chatham, ON. Appears on the “Muster Roll” of the 2nd Bn., Kent Regiment (MG), N.P.A.N. (date unknown).

The CDN 14/02/42 reported that Vernon and his wife who had returned from Dauphin, Manitoba to spend some leave with his parents. Vernon was returning and his wife was going on to see her parents Milton, ON 

Cpl. Jacobs was stationed at RCAF-Trenton when his wife and son Richard of Milton ON. were visiting Vern’s parents in Chatham.

Served four and a half years in Canada and six months overseas, in England. Promoted to Corporal.

Reported overseas aboard the troop ship “Samaria” along with 1445 other RCAF personnel. CDN 23/08/45. Vernon was to proceed to Quebec City to No. 1 Repatriation Depot to receive leave. 

Discharged October 10th, 1945.
