Lieutenant Albert E.. Jack proceeded to France in July 1915, attached to the 10th West Yorkshire Regiment, serving until Sepember 1916, when returned to England and entered Hospital due to illness. Upon recovery he was appointed Instructor in Trench Mortar at Lowestoft. Three months later he again crossed to France with the 11th West Yorkshire Regiment, transferring later to the 6th Trench Mortar Battery, Italy. In August, 1918, Lieut. Jacks returned to Canada on three months furlough.
