Cecil was from Wheatley. He joined the Canadian Armoured Corps in September 1942.  He went overseas in July 1943.  Cecil landed in England in November 1944l  Cecil served in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany.  He was a tank driver.  He was wounded in Holland in April 1945.

Cecil married in England in June 1945.  He returned to Canada on February 5, 1946.  Cecil was discharged in March 1946.
