Private Cecil Hyslop transferred from the 91st to the 186th Battalion, and was promoted to Sergeant, leaving Chatham for overseas March 22, 1917. He trained at Bramshott util the first draft was ready for France, when he reverted to Private, going over in June,1917. At Passchendaele, Pte. Hyslop suffered from a sprained back, and also from trench feet, being admitted to Hospital November 15th, 1917, and later sent to Queen Mary Military Hospital, Whalley, Lancashire, England. He was transferred to the convalescent hospital at Epsom in the early part of 1918 ,from there he went to Witley Camp where he remained until he returned to Canada.
Discharged at London July 11th 1919 due to demobilisation.
